The two largest organizations of commercial flooring contractors, Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring and Fuse Alliance announced today that the groups are forming a joint task force to focus on critical issues facing the commercial flooring industry. During a meeting held last week, in Chicago by the Board of Directors of both organizations, the task force was identified as a collaborative step designed to support each of the networks’ members and will better serve the manufacturers aligned with each network.
This newly formed task force will address long-standing industry concerns such as moisture mitigation including high moisture solutions and labor shortages, particularly in estimating and installation. In addition, the task force will establish guidelines for regulatory activities such as the current OSHA Crystalline Silica rules and other labor issues specific to the service side of the industry. By tapping into the power and knowledge of both organizations, Starnet and Fuse can proactively tackle a broad group of issues, which will ultimately create better experiences for the architecture and design industry, and the end use customer.
The task force is estimated to launch by year-end and will be made up of members from both organizations who have extensive experience in these issues. Collectively Fuse Alliance and Starnet Worldwide represent over 250 of the most influential flooring contractors in the United States.
