Earth Day event held by the Bentley/Consolidated Partnership

Consolidated Carpet’s David Meberg sends us photos from this week’s Earth Day event held by the Bentley/Consolidated partnership, and writes:

“We submitted our outline for this event weeks ago. In short, we partnered 11 designers from major design firms in NYC with teams of 4 kids (44 in total) from middle schools located in the Bronx and partnered with The Salvadori Center, a non profit that fosters learning through architecture and design.

The results are obvious.

The kids competed for various creative prizes and everybody was a winner. They all left not only with their creations but trophies (the Starnet water bottles filled with candy) and bags of art supplies donated by The Greater NY Floor Coverers Association. All re-purposed samples were donated by the design firms who volunteered, and the un-used materials were sent back to the schools so the children who could not make the trip could use them for various art projects.

I wanted to write to thank Starnet for prompting this event.

Besides the obvious goodwill and relationship building that was enjoyed by Conso, Bentley and the design firms, this proved to be a most personally gratifying event for all who participated. The smiles tell the story.”

They do — thank you for this wonderful event and lovely story!
